The Elmhurst Neighborhood Association is hosting on their Annual Pancake Breakfast. Will Be in the Courtyard. Costumes Encouraged! Bring the kids! it will be from 9AM to Noon. Donations are welcome, they go to the support of the neighborhood association.

The brethren of Capital City Lodge #499, in celebration of 100-years as a Chartered Masonic Lodge, cordially invite families, friends and community members to our Open House.    

Please join us for fellowship, friendship, refreshments and appetizers.  Feel free to stop by and check out our beautiful renovations, and to catch up on what is going on in the Lodge.

Brothers will be available in the Library, Lodge Room and Kitchen/Dining Room, to speak with you on our renovation’s projects and the Lodge’s history.

BRIEF HISTORY OF

CAPITAL CITY LODGE #499

In October of 1920 – Like-minded brothers began to discuss the possibility of forming a new Masonic Lodge in Sacramento, California.

In February 1921 – They met under the Ledger in the Registry of Discussion, a Grand Lodge Dispensation was then granted and a meeting location was identified.  They began to meet for the purpose of establishing a new lodge in Sacramento.

October 13, 1921 – October 13, 2021

In October 1921 – The Grand Lodge issued a Charter for Capital City in Sacramento, establishing it as the 499th Lodge in California.

In February 1970 – Through a generous donation of a Lodge member & Master Mason (Charles Goethe), Capital City Lodge secured its current location at 4647 U street in the Elmhurst community of Sacramento.

In August 1971 – Capital City Lodge’s new home was dedicated by Most Worshipful Grand Master Herbert Huebner.

In 1973 – Capital City Lodge’s Past Master (Raymond Ebbage), was elected as Most Worshipful Grand Master for the State of California.

In 1986 – Capital City Lodge’s Past Master (John W. Driskell), served as Most Worshipful Grand Master for the State of California.

In 2019 – The Lodge Restoration Project was implemented, and still continues to this day.

In October 2021, Capital City Lodge will celebrate 100-years as a Charted Masonic Lodge.
