FROM THE EAST – THE PILLAR OF WISDOM
Greetings Brethren,
We have met all of the criteria to enable us to once again meet in person within the Lodge, which is where brothers should assemble. Now is our time to take charge toward moving our Lodge forward into the future.
Our 100-year Anniversary is in October of this year, but the observance of this grand event will take place next year during worshipful Dixon’s term. Brothers who would like to take part in our 100-year historical gathering, should contact Senior Warden Kelly Dixon to offer any assistance you may be able to provide next year. In keeping with the above thought, let me update you on some of our particulars so far:
Jobes Daughter Checker Tournament – on July 31st located at the Lodge from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
It will be followed by an Ice Cream Social in honor
of our Jobes Daughters.
Golden Veteran’s Dinner – on September 4th
located at the Lodge from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. This
is for our 50-year presentations.
We are also scheduling a 3rd degree for brother Alan O’neal, as well as a 2nd degree proficiency for brother Roman Aquino. Once his degree has been completed, we can then schedule his 3rd degree. We also have a 1st degree candidate being investigated at this time. As soon as it is ready, we will notify the brethren.
On October 16th, we are planning our “Grand Re-Opening of the Lodge Ceremony”. This will also include the start of our 100-year celebration. Details regarding this event will be sent out to you as soon as possible. There are several more events to schedule for the end of this year. As the events are firmed up properly, notice will be given. In providing advance notice of coming events, the “Installation of Officers” will be January 8th of 2022, and held at the Lodge at 3:30 pm until done.
Brethren, being off through the Covid-19 pandemic has put us behind on many items that now need our attention. To accomplish these event goals, we will need your attendance, as well as your assistance in these matters. Please feel free to contact any one of our officers to volunteer.
Again, now is the time if you have any prospective members. Please let me know, and together we can start their Masonic journey with our Lodge. Thank you all again in advance for helping and/or assisting us this year. Together we can get back on track, and make 2022 a wonderfully successful year for our Lodge.
Tony L. Shelton, PM
Master
FROM THE WEST – THE PILLAR OF STRENGTH
Brethren,
As we emerge from a long period of COVID restrictions, I encourage all of our membership, their families and guests, to join us for dinner prior to the July stated meeting. I, along with the Pillars of our Lodge, look forward to getting back to normal. It will be nice to have the ability to meet face-to-face without state mandated restrictions.
I will be filling in for our vacationing Junior Warden, and have planned a traditional 4th of July meal of hot dogs and hamburgers. These will be accompanied by potato salad, chips and French Onion dip. Cold watermelon will be served for dessert. Apple pie and vanilla ice cream may also make an appearance.
While each of us may choose different celebratory activities, please take a moment on Sunday, July 4th, to reflect on the blessings and freedoms we all enjoy. Freedoms which, because of those who came before us, have sacrificed allowing us to live in the greatest nation the world has ever known. While many of us know about the 56 patriots who signed on the Declaration of Independence “dotted line,” never forget the estimated 6,800 patriots who were killed in action, as well as the many others who died during the fight for our nation’s freedom. Light some fireworks, or lift a toast to all of the Patriots of this great nation, who have served our country so that we can celebrate!! May God bless you all during this holiday celebration, and may God bless the United States of America!
Fraternally,
Kelly Dixon
Senior Warden
FROM THE SOUTH – THE PILLAR OF BEAUTY
Brethren,
Happy Summer!!! That time of year is now here, where we can get out and enjoy this wonderful weather. For myself, I will not be at the July Stated Meeting because I will be taking my boys on their first real camping trip over the 4th of July weekend. I hope that all of you are well, and can enjoy our Independence Day celebration.
Lots of fun things are coming ahead, as Worshipful Shelton has outlined above. I’m looking forward to things being open, and I can enjoy our fellowship again. Also, I can’t wait for the 1st annual Checkers Tournament coming up on July 31st. There is going to be some interesting characters there!! The Golden Veteran’s Dinner is in July too. We can celebrate our brothers’ accomplishments and enjoy an evening of fellowship.
I’m particularly excited that we are getting so much interest in our Lodge right now. There are a few brothers that need to advance in their degrees, but also new inquires to this great fraternity. We have started looking into scheduling degrees, and working with our Masonic district to accomplish these tasks. I’m excited that brothers are choosing to move up, and that new brothers are joining. That means we are growing our Lodge. Great times ahead.
In closing brethren, remember that the Lodge can use your help. It takes a body of brothers to sustain a Lodge, not just a few. If you’re interested in returning to Lodge or helping out in any way, please let us (the officers) know.
Fraternally,
Robert W. Leach
Junior Warden
